WAFU U-17: Nigeria defeat Burkina Faso, qualify for final

football_goalThe management of Heartland Football Club of Owerri led by veteran sports journalist, Fan Ndubuoke have paid 5% of sign-on-fees for the on-going season and as well paid 15% of last season’s fees.

This was possible after they accessed 60 million Naira released by the Imo State Government.

One of the players revealed that they are not happy with the money paid but they do not have choice as they are pleading with Governor Rochas Okorocha to do more.

“They paid us 5% of our sign on fee for this season and 15% from last season,” said the player.

“What they paid us for this season is very small, they just shared the money anyhow, we are not happy but we have no choice, we are still begging the Governor to release more money so we could be paid.”

Heartland, once dubbed ‘The Naze Millionaires’ because of their huge budget, have grappled with financial constraints after the management was tasked with sourcing for funding outside the government.
