Super Eagles FIFA Confederation Cup flop, Gambo Mohammed, has been reported to join Tunisian side Club Africain on a three-year deal, his club have announced.
The player who missed kicked in a one-on-one scoring position in the match against Spain it was gathered has agreed to join Club Africain on a three-year deal. He will leave for Tunisia within the week.
Kano Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa, said on Tuesday that: “Two other clubs from China and Saudi Arabia wanted Gambo but after we studied all the offers, we agreed that Club Africain’s deal was best for the player.”
At a press briefing on Tuesday in Kano, club chairman Abba Yola said he believes Gambo’s move will enhance the player’s career.
“This transfer is in the right direction for Gambo. It will make him a better player,” said Abba Yola.
He enjoined the player to be a good ambassador of the club as well as Nigeria, while thanking him for his total commitment to the club while he was there.
The Nigeria international has previously attended trials in Turkey and Egypt.
Ezenwa Otorogu and Victor Ezeji are some of the Nigerian strikers who have featured for Tunis-based Club Africain.
