apc_logoA verification team from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Tuesday, held a secret meeting with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.

The INEC team was led by the Director, Department of Political Party Registration and Monitoring, Mr Ibrahim Shittu, while the APC team, which received them was led by the Interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande.

Venue was the APC office in Abuja.

Addressing newsmen after the meeting, Akande said APC members had proved to INEC that they existed as gentlemen with befitting accommodation.

He said: “Today, INEC came to visit us in our home, and the commission is happy that we have got a home.

“Through our attendance register, INEC discovered that we belong to a party of gentle men.”

Akande expressed the hope that with the level of its preparation, APC would be registered as a political party.

He said that various conventions had been done by the merging political parties, adding that they had also forwarded various joint applications to the commission for registration.
