edem_dukeMinister of Culture, Chief Edem Duke, has lauded the friendly initiatives of Globacom for the youth, describing them as germane to the development and empowerment of the future leaders of the country.

Duke, who stated this on Saturday at the commencement of the eight-city Glo Slide and Bounce Tour in Abuja, also hailed the robust support of Globacom for key sectors of the economy, especially the provision of job opportunities for the large army of unemployed youths in the country.

He said his Ministry was in full support of Globacom’s youth initiatives like the Glo Soccer Academy, the X Factor as well as empowerment of iconic Nollywood stars and singers which handsomely reward excellence and hardwork.

Also speaking at the event, Globacom’s Divisional Director, Abuja, Mr. Kemi Kaka, assured young Nigerians of many value adding products and offerings that would support them to break all limits inhibiting them to be the best in their chosen field of human endeavours.

“The Slide and Bounce Tour is our way of saying thank you to the youths, entertain them and inspire them to achieve their dreams,” Kaka noted.

He disclosed that the Slide and Bounce train would move to Benin next weekend and later Ibadan, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Uyo and Lagos, adding that Nigerians would get the best in home grown entertainment from celebrated Glo Ambassadors and Legends.

At the Abuja concert held on Saturday night at the Thisday Dome, it was a wonderful homecoming for the twin sensation P Square who grew up in Gwagwalada area of the FCT. The duo of Peter and Paul was the cynosure of all eyes with their electrifying performance which thrilled the audience while Naeto C, WAJE, Omawumi, Chee, the Voice, Lynxx, Burna Boy and Lagbaja serenaded the audience with their

beautiful voices and different genre of music.

Inimitable Okey Bakassi kept the audience spell bound with rib-cracking jokes while DJ Spinoff and Jimmy the Hypeman dished out popular tunes from the turntables.
