Trump Rejects Iran Peace Proposal Over Nuclear Concerns

U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with a recent peace proposal submitted by Iran, according to multiple U.S. media sources citing White House officials.

The proposal is said to include reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz and ending the U.S. naval blockade affecting Iranian ports.

Sources indicated that the proposal was reviewed during a high-level security meeting held in the White House Situation Room.

Senior officials, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, were present during the discussions

Officials familiar with the talks said the proposal defers negotiations on Iran’s nuclear programme to a later stage, a move that has raised concerns in Washington.

Rubio reportedly noted that the U.S. administration is unlikely to accept any agreement that does not clearly restrict Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

President Trump has consistently maintained that any agreement must prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

He is also said to favour a deal structured strictly on U.S. terms, without concessions that could be perceived as weakening Washington’s position.

Analysts suggest that accepting the proposal in its current form could undermine the administration’s long-standing stance on Iran’s nuclear programme.

However, officials acknowledged that the latest offer appears more moderate compared to previous proposals from Tehran.

The U.S. president has reportedly indicated that there is no immediate deadline for concluding peace negotiations or ending hostilities involving U.S. and Israeli interests in the region.

This suggests that diplomatic efforts may continue without urgency, despite ongoing tensions.
