Supporters of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan went wild Wednesday evening after their darling team lost 2-0 to a superior Heartland Football Club of Owerri in the Nigeria Premier League Week 12 game played at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, as they pounced on the team’s two coaches beating them black and blue.
Heartland who earlier on before their game paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Super Falcons chief coach, Jossy Lad, scored a goal in each half of the game against Shooting Stars.
The Naze Millionaires opened scoring in the second minute of play through a header by Jolly Osas from a corner kick.
Ebere Odichie scored the second goal for the visitors by heading home a cross from Ikechukwu Odichie in the 61st minute of play.
The Owerri-based team even attempted to score the third goal but the goal-bound ball was saved 3SC goal keeper, Laide Okanlawon who stopped a goal-bound shot from Osas in the 84th minute of the game.
The furious home fans angered by the lackluster attitude of the technical crew of 3SC over some of the changes made in the course of the game descended on the two coaches in-charge, Tunde Odubola and Kazeem Busari.
The two coaches, despite protections from the security personnel at the Lekan Salami Stadium still got beaten by the irate fans who patiently waited for them outside the stadium immediately the center referee blew off the match.
