The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has announced the formation of a reconciliation committee to address complaints arising from its recent party primaries.
The party said the move was aimed at resolving grievances among aspirants, stakeholders and members ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Ibadan, the Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, said the committee would help strengthen unity within the party.
Sadare said the committee was made up of respected party elders, senior political figures and eminent citizens who would engage aggrieved members.
According to him, the committee is expected to meet aspirants who bought Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms but failed to secure the party’s tickets.
He said the reconciliation effort was necessary to rebuild confidence, settle internal disputes and position the APC for a stronger outing in the next elections.
The committee is expected to be inaugurated in the coming week by the Oyo APC State Chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo.
Members of the committee include Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin, Sen. Brimo Yusuf, Sen. Hosea Agboola, Chief Akin Oke, Prof. Afolabi Oladapo, Mr Idris Adeoye and Pa Timothy Jolaoso.
Others are Chief Olukemi Alao-Akala, Dr Adebayo Adewusi, Hon. Gunju Ojo, Dr Adekemi Opatunde, Chief Abisoye Fagade, Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe and Abu Adejare Gbadamosi.
Also listed are Isiaka Alimi, Prince Niran Adeyoju, Alhaji Yinka Folarin, Chief Emmanuel Olaoye, Alhaji Mufutau Adisa, Alhaji Sule Ajibade and Prof. Abideen Olaiya.
The committee also includes Mr Dayo Lawal, Hon. Ibrahim Bolomope, Mrs Mabel Williams, Hon. Jelili Agboola, Hon. Kehinde Oloya, Chief Goke Oyetunji and Hon. Ramota Okemakinde, among others.
Sadare expressed confidence that the reconciliation process would help restore peace and cooperation within the party.
He said the APC hoped the initiative would bring members together and strengthen the party’s chances of winning major contests in the 2027 polls.
The development comes as political parties in Oyo State continue internal preparations ahead of the next election cycle.
The reconciliation committee is expected to play a key role in managing post-primary tensions and reducing divisions among party members.
Party leaders said the success of the process would depend on sincere engagement, fairness and the willingness of stakeholders to put collective interest above personal grievances.
The Oyo APC said it remained committed to building a united platform capable of competing effectively in the 2027 general elections.
