Oliseh: Eagles can beat Spain

sunday_olisehFormer Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, has assured that the Super Eagles have all the chances to book a ticket to play in the semi-finals of the FIFA 2013 Confederations Cup.

The Super Eagles lost to Uruguay 2-1 to drop to second on the group table, to set up a decisive group game against Spain on Sunday in Fortaleza.

Oliseh said the Super Eagles have the team to win their last group game against Spain.

“All is not lost for the Super Eagles against Spain. In football nothing is conclusively lost until the game is played. Eagles can still pull a surprise against Spain, so it is not over for them,” said the former Nigerian captain.

An unimpressed Oliseh said: “Eagles showed no pace in their passes, the opponents, Uruguay had it all and we were not shooting to compound the problems of the night.

“Nothing to blame Eagles’ goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama for Diego Forlan thundering goal for his side, the passes enroute to the goal were quick and the finishing precise and excellent,” he said.

Eagles hope of qualification to the semi-finals of the global football fiesta will be decided by their performance against Spain’s Furia Roja (Red Fury) at the Estadio Castelao in Fortaleza as well as the outcome in the tie involving the Oceania champions, Tahiti and Uruguay on Sunday.
