The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has officially disassociated itself from an unauthorised social media account on X (formerly Twitter) operating under the name “Nigeria National Grid.”

In a statement released in Abuja on Saturday, NISO expressed concern that the account continues to share misleading information regarding Nigeria’s power grid. The organisation clarified that it does not own, manage, or control the account, and the individuals behind it are not authorised to represent NISO or speak on its behalf.

“The public, media organisations, and stakeholders are strongly advised not to quote, reference, or rely on any information from the account, as it does not reflect NISO’s official operations or position,” the statement said.

NISO reiterated that all official communications are issued exclusively via its verified platforms:

  • Facebook and LinkedIn: @Nigerian Independent System Operator
  • Instagram: @officialniso_ng
  • X (formerly Twitter): @OFFICIALNISO_NG
  • Website: www.niso.org.ng

The organisation affirmed its commitment to transparent, accurate, and responsible communication and thanked the public and media for cooperating in reporting and disregarding unauthorized use of NISO’s identity.
