The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has officially cleared former Cross River Governor Donald Duke as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
Duke’s clearance follows the review of the recently held party primaries by the Primaries Appeal Committee and the subsequent approval of its report by the NWC.
Muhammed Ishaq, PRP’s National Publicity Secretary, stated in a Saturday release that the NWC also upheld results for governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly elections. All candidates were cleared to contest in 2027 except for the Tarauni Federal Constituency in Kano, whose primary election was nullified.
The party will be fielding a total of 420 candidates across all elective positions in next year’s general elections.
“In line with our commitment to active participation in the electoral process, the PRP is proud to field a total of 420 candidates across all positions in the 2027 general elections,” Ishaq said. He reaffirmed the party’s dedication to internal democracy, credible elections, and transformative leadership for Nigeria.
