Some residents of Kaduna metropolis have urged the President-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu to fulfil his campaign promises by running an inclusive government.
A cross section of the residents, in separate interviews, on Wednesday in Kaduna, said this would promote national unity.
They said that it was imperative for the President-elect to advance the frontier of unity by bringing all political parties and ethno-religious groups to be part of his government.
A civil servant, Garba Tanimu said that Tinubu won the election because people voted for him to ensure security and welfare of Nigerians.
“This should be paramount to the President-elect,” he said, and stressed the need to revive ailing textile industries and refineries in the country.
“We voted and left the rest to God; God has chosen Sen. BolaTinubu and we accepted the will of God.
“We pray that he will take Nigeria to the promised land,” he said.
A student, Asiya Muhammad also expressed the hope that Tinubu would address challenges bedeviling the education sector as well as improve healthcare service delivery in the country.
A trader, Malam Ibrahim Audu said that he prayed God for the best and Tinubu emerged.
“God will guide him in serving Nigeria and its people,” he said, and urged the opposition parties to support the new administration for sustainable social and economic development of the country.
Ibrahim Kashim and Umar Boyi, residents of Rigasa area of Igabi Local Government Area of the state, expressed hope of a new Nigeria under the stewardship of Tinubu.
Kashim said he was confident in the capacity of Tinubu to put up quality leadership in view of his proven track record and achievements in Lagos State.
“Tinubu built Lagos to its state and it is still in his track record, so we expect same or even more for a better Nigeria,” Kashim said.
While Boyi stressed that Tinubu has been known for all forms of development, especially human development.
He commended Nigerians for conducting one of the most successful and acceptable election in the country in spite some challenges.
For her part, Mrs Gloria Anozie described Tinubu’s victory as “collective success for the country”.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Sen. Bola Tinubu winner of the Feb. 25 Presidential Election.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu announced the result at the end of the Presidential Election Collation exercise on Wednesday in Abuja.
