Kebbi Govt approves payment of 2023/2024 scholarship

The Kebbi State Government has approved the payment of registration fees for 2023/2024 academic session for all verified indigenes studying in Usman Danfodio University Sokoto (UDUS).
Alhaji Ahmed Idris, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, disclosed this in a statement made available in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.
Idris quoted the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Tafida, as saying that the the approval was part of efforts to improve the standard of education in the state.
The SSG did not disclose the total amount and number of beneficiaries.
“In his efforts to improve the standard of education, the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, has graciously approved the payment of registration fees for 2023/2024 academic session.
“The approval is for all verified Kebbi State indigenes studying in Usman Danfodio University Sokoto (UDUS),” the statement read in part.
He said that the approval was to encourage the students get sound education and to ease difficulties faced by parents.
“The present administration is determined to fulfil all its campaign promises, most especially in education, agriculture, health, infrastructure and youth empowerment,” he assured.
The government advised all students studying at UDUS to take full advantage of the opportunity by studying hard towards achieving the purpose of being in school.
