president_goodluck_jonathanPresident Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated Mr Bobboi Kaigama of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, on his election as President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Presidential spokesperson Dr Reuben Abati in Abuja.

Abati said that the president welcomed the new TUC’s president’s declaration that the TUC, under his leadership would work with government and private sector employers for the benefit of workers and all Nigerians.

“President Jonathan and the Federal Government look forward to working with Mr Kaigama and his new team to enhance cordial industrial relations in Nigeria and in furtherance of the present administration’s agenda for national transformation.”

He said that the president believed that Kaigama would succeed in his new responsibility based on his “notable antecedents, experience and excellent credentials as a labour leader”.

Quoting the President further, Abati said that being the President of a large Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, “Kaigama is fully equipped to succeed as President of one of the two major conglomerations of trade unions in the country.’’

He said that the president extended his best wishes for a fruitful and successful tenure for the new TUC President.
