TY_danjumaPresident Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated retired LT.-Gen. Theophilous Danjuma on the conferment of the title of Jarmai Zazzau on him by the Emir of Zaria, Alhaji Shehu Idris.

This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuban Abati.

“President Jonathan joins Gen. Danjuma’s family, friends, and associates, former colleagues in the Armed Forces, protégés and admirers in all parts of the country in felicitating with him on being honoured yet again, for his immense contributions to the development of the nation.

“The President believes that Gen. Danjuma’s splendid career in the Armed Forces and public service of the Federation will be continually honoured,’’ Abati said..

Abati added that the president believed that Danjuma’s “colossal philanthropy and generosity to communities in all geo-political zones of the country have ensured that he will be celebrated by an appreciative nation.’’

He said that the president commended the Emir for honouring the Danjuma, a former Chief of Army Staff and Minister of Defence.

He said that the president also praised the outstanding and personal contributions of Danjuma to the progress of institutions and communities in Nigeria.

These institutions and communities the president said include the recent donation of over N2 billion to the Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU), Zaria for the construction of a new library, lecture hall, auditorium and administrative block.

The statement quoted the president as praying God to continue to bless Danjuma with good health and grant him many more years of great service to his beloved fatherland.
