The Jacob Esuene Sports Club (JESC), a non profit organization, is set to honor members who received Gold Medal Award in the recent National squash competition and other competitions
Mr Iniobong Esuene, the promoter of the game squash, stated this in an interaction with newsmen at Eket in Eket LGA of the state on Saturday.
He said that Jacob Esuene Sports Club promoted the game of squash at all levels and the academy currently had 64 children registered, with the youngest being three years old.
Esuene said that the academy was tuition free and all expense-paid for all the trainees.
He thanked some corporate organizations, especially Villa Marina Hotel, Eket for taking up sponsorship of the club as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR).
Esuene further explained that the mission of the academy was to use squash as a medium for youth development in the community, state and the country at large.
He noted that the event, which would take place at U. J. Esuene Hall, Villa Marina Hotel, Eket on May 17, would have Mr Umo Eno, the Governor-elect of Akwa Ibom, as Special Guest of Honour, while Mr Monday Uko, the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports would chair the occasion.
Mr Onofiok Luke, the PDP member, representing Etinan Federal Constituency, is expected to be the special guest and other well meaning individuals, organizations and sports lovers are also expected to grace the occasion.
