Impact positively on lives of less privileged, Cleric urges wealthy Nigerians

An Islamic cleric, Imam Qasim Akilapa, has called on wealthy Nigerians to always strive to impact positively on the lives of the less privileged.

in order to be rewarded on this earth and hereafter.

Akilapa gave the advice at the 50th remembrance anniversary of the late Madam Asimowu Akinyosola, mother of Mrs Mutiat Ladoja, wife of former Governor of Oyo State.

According to him, impacting positively on people’s lives would make them to be remembered and rewarded years after death.

He said that children and the public were remembering the deceased after 50 years of her demise, because of the positive impact she had made in their lives.

Akilapa called on kind-hearted Nigerians to imbibe the character and attitude of the late Akinyosola in order to continue to be rewarded by the Almighty Allah, while on earth and after death.

He described the deceased as “God fearing and humble person who always strive for the success of not only her children, but that of others.”

Akilapa said that the deceased was childless for 12 years after which she eventually had four children, adding that she was a highly successful business woman and a philanthropist.

“Glory be to God that all her four children are now big people in the society as a result of the good character exhibited by their late mother,” Akilapa said.

Commenting on her mother’s death, Ladoja said that the day was “indeed a sad day because I never dreamt that she could died at the time family and friends were enjoying her goodwill”.

Ladoja said that she lost her mother when she was a teenager and about completing her secondary school.

She described her mother as “a prayer warrior, courageous and honest woman”, adding that the little time she spent with her still was her sustenance.

Prayer for the deceased was led by the Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Sheik AbddulGaniyu Agbotomokekere, along with other Imams.

Dignitaries present at the occasion included the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Bayo Lawal; Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Daud Mokajuola; traditional leaders and politicians.

NAN reports that the late Akinyosola died on April 2,1973 at the age of 60 years and survived by four children- Alhaja Mulikat Alabi; Prince Minkail Bakre; Alhaja Muibat Adeyemi and Chief Mutiat Ladoja.
