Hotel scarcity hits AFCON

Players and football federation officials are already hit by hotel scarcity in Equitorial Guinea.
They are now being forced to search for places to sleep because of lack of hotel rooms.
Worst hit are players from Congo and Burkina Faso.
Congo coach, Claude Le Roy, has confirmed the development, saying five of his players are stranded.
“Some of these hotels lack running water. There are exposed electrical cables everywhere,” he said.
Burkina Faso coach, Paul Put, also criticised the facilities, saying the event should have been delayed until June.
Equatorial Guinea is staging the tournament at short notice because Morocco was stripped of the right in November.
Morocco was reluctant to host the three-week event because of heath fears, following the Ebola outbreak.
Congo plays Equatorial Guinea in their opening game on Saturday.
Le Roy said: “There are not enough places for my staff and it’s even difficult to find rooms for the players in Bata. The electricity is terrible, everything is exposed. I wanted to wash my hands. There was no water. Some of my assistants went around searching if there were rooms available somewhere but it seems very difficult.”
