Governors seek 25% discount on sale of INEC laptops

adams_oshiomholeGOVERNORS have agreed to buy about 78,701 excess laptops used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2011 general elections with a proviso: discounts of 25% for the old ones and 10% for the new ones.

This was disclosed on Thursday by Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State after the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

The meeting was presided over by Vice President Namadi Sambo.

Oshiomhole said the governors agreed to purchase the machines from INEC as part of measures to increase the rate of computer literacy in their respective states.
