glo_logoGlobacom has advised the Super Eagles not to rest on their oars as the team prepares for the second match against Uruguay on Thursday in Group B of the on-going FIFA Confederations Cup.

Globacom congratulated the team on their 6-1 victory over Tahiti, adding that “We are pleased that the Eagles had quickly shrugged off their jet lag and settled down to business in Brazil,” a statement by the company said in Lagos on Tuesday.

“We are also delighted that the Eagles left no one in doubt that they are the true African champions, even though there are a lot of rooms for improvement,” the statement said.

The company called on the Super Eagles to work towards winning their next match, thus qualifying for the semi –finals ahead of time.

“Equally, we are happy that the Nigerian team made Africa proud,” the statement stated further.

Globacom advised the Eagles and the technical crew to increase the tempo when they meet Uruguay in the second group game on Thursday.

“With Uruguay suffering a loss already, the tie with Eagles on Thursday could be a tricky one and we urge our ambassadors to ensure another victory to make the semi final ticket certain,” the statement said.

Globacom is the official telecommunications partner of the Nigeria Football Federation and the major sponsor of the Nigeria national teams.
