President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday, met with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Governors Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa) and others in London.
A jovial Buhari, who told the delegation that he would soon return to the country “the moment my doctors tell me to do so”, described those peddling falsehood about his state of health as liars.
The President, who thanked God for sparing his life, expressed his happiness that millions of Nigerians pray for his good health everyday.
Buhari, who discussed with the delegation at lunch, specifically asked Amaechi about development in the railway sector.
Okorocha, who spoke on the outcome of the meeting, said the President was “very cheerful and has not lost any bit of his sense of humour”.
He said: “We spent more than an hour with President Buhari over lunch, and it was very clear from the discussions that he follows developments at home very closely. He was delighted to receive the delegation and asked each governor about affairs in his state. He also asked the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, about the state of railways.
“When asked to react to all the negative things being said about him, the President just laughed, describing such negative reports as lies. He is completely unperturbed by the cocktail of lies. He, instead, sent his best wishes to Nigerians.
“He told us that Nigerians don’t have to worry at all, saying he would be back as soon as the doctors give him the green light.
“By our visit to London today, the merchants of lies have been put out of business and Nigerians will not buy the garbage they have been selling. All those who look up to fake news can find better use for their time”.
