Anenih, Kwara gov bicker over PDP, APC

Those who believe that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will wrest presidential power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 14 election were, on Tuesday, told to wake from their nightmare.
Chairman, Board of Trustees (Bot) of PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, simply laughed when asked by reporters in Ilorin, Kwara State whether he was jittery over the APC push to seize power through democratic means.
He was in the state capital at the head of a four-man team to reconcile aggrieved PDP members and evaluate preparations for the party’s presidential campaign slated for Monday.
He said: “You can see me laughing. APC taking over from PDP? 1998/99, they made attempts from different groups then, 2002/2003, the same people made attempt. 2007, and 2011, we have a clean record of success. I don’t see any reason why there should be a change. They will fail at the end of the day”.
With Anenih were a former BoT chairman, Professor Jerry Gana, former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani, Chairman of the party’s campaign advisory council in the state, Hajia Bola Shagaya, and others.
But in a swift reaction, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed described the PDP as a party that lacks ideas and creativity to drive socio-economic development of the country.

Traditional Council in Isanlu – Isin, Headquaters of Isin Local Local Government Area of the State in continuation of the APC campaign, noted that in the last six years, the PDP, through mismanagement, has virtually driven Nigeria aground as insecurity and unemployment remain major challenges in the country.
Ahmed said it has become imperative to vote for APC which he described as not just a political party but a movement for better Nigeria.
“Every Nigerian must be concerned by the high level of
insecurity, mass unemployment, inadequate power supply and near collapse of the economy in the country. We must, therefore, use the opportunity this election provides to drive out the PDP by voting massively for the APC at all levels,” he said.
The governor advised the people not to sell their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as it is their weapon to exercise their democratic right, stressing that his administration has implemented its electoral promises to the people of Isin local government through road construction, provision of medical equipment and drugs in the hospitals in the area as well as the upgrading of traditional rulers.
