To ensure that President Bola Tinubu wins the January 16 election, ADC and NDC presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, must have high blood pressure before and during the election.
Tinubu is seeking reelection on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, who declared on Friday that his job is to ensure this, vowed to ensure that Atiku, Obi and others remain uncomfortable in the build-up to the election.
Speaking on Friday in Abuja while inspecting ongoing projects in the Federal Capital Territory, Wike insisted that “there is currently no formidable opposition party in Nigeria”.
“My job is to make them uncomfortable by making them have high blood pressure”.
Reacting to Osun State Governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke’s recent visit to President Bola Tinubu and himself, Wike said the development was part of a growing “Rainbow Coalition” backing Tinubu ahead of 2027.
“When you say opposition, I have told you, I don’t know what you call opposition. I say there is no opposition now. Adeleke remains a PDP member who contested on another platform due to internal party wrangling, but has now thrown his support behind Tinubu.
“In the next few weeks, watch what is going to happen. You will see the Rainbow Coalition in this country supporting Mr President”.
The minister further declared that the 2027 election would be “the easiest election,” adding, “I told you that the 2027 election would be the easiest election”.
On Atiku and Obi, he said: “I don’t care; whatever they feel is not my business. I don’t want them to feel well. It is not my wish that they should feel well.
“My business is to make them not feel well all day, because they will be having high blood pressure. I guess that is my job, to make them have high blood pressure.”
Wike also said he intended to worsen the opposition’s internal problems. “I will add more crises for them. That’s my position”.
