World Cup final referee Rizzoli tops list for Euro 2016

European Football Association (UEFA) on Tuesday in Berlin named Italy’s Nicola Rizzoli, who refereed the 2014 World Cup final, as one of the referees nominated to attend the finals of Euro 2016 in France.
The 44-year-old Rizzoli, who oversaw Germany defeat Argentina 1-0 after extra-time in the Rio World Cup final, topped the list of the 18 referees for the tournament.
Turkish referee, Cuneyt Cakir, who was in charge of the 2014 Champions League final in Berlin and fourth official in the Euro 2012 final, was also nominated.
Also on the list of the referees are Martin Atkinson (England), Felix Brych (Germany), Mark Clattenburg (England) and William Collum (Scotland).
Others as listed by UEFA are Jonas Eriksson (Sweden), Ovidiu Hategan (Romania), Sergey Karasev (Russia) Viktor Kassai (Hungary), Pavel Kralovec (Czech Republic) and Björn Kuipers (Netherlands).
Szymon Marciniak (Poland), Milorad Mazic (Serbia), Svein Moen (Norway), Nicola Rizzoli (Italy), Damir Skomina (Slovenia), Clement Turpin (France) and Carlos Carballo (Spain) are also listed.
