Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Uche Secondus, was told on Tuesday by a High Court in Abuja that he was occupying his office illegally.
Justice Hussein Baba ruled that since the position is zoned to the North-East, Secondus, an indigene of Rivers State (South-South) should vacate office within 14 days.
Secondus was sued by Ahmed Gulak, former Special Adviser (Political Matters) to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Immediately after the verdict, PDP counsel, Paul Isaiah, said the party would appeal and file a stay of execution of the judgement “because the National Convention of the party is in March next year”.
Justice Baba ordered Secondus to vacate office within 14 days and Gulak or any other party member worthy of that position should assume the office of the Acting National Chairman.
