In fulfillment of its promise made at the launch of the Etisalat/FC Barcelona Under-17 Secondary Schools Cup, the winners of the competition, Keke Senior High School, Agege, will on Sunday, September 8 embark on a five-day all-expense paid summer trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“It is our responsibility to live-up to our promise and as such players and officials of the team as well as top officials of Etisalat will be leaving for the UAE on Sunday evening,” Modupe Thani, Head of Events and Sponsorship of the company said.
Part of the objectives of the trip is to showcase Etisalat as a leading brand that supports youth empowerment and development as well as demonstrate Etisalat’s support as a youth-unifying brand and supporter of customers’ passion for football.
“It is also to create support of the football passion of the Nigeria youth as well as increase the bond Etisalat customers and fans of FC Barcelona,” Thani added.
While in Dubai, the team which also includes top officials of Etisalat will take a tour of Abu Dhabi city, which is the capital of UAE and largest of the seven Emirates, known as the third most beautiful city. The team will also visit Etisalat Headquarters and the world’s largest man made port of Jebel Al Free Zone and Al Husa Fort, the original home of the rulers.
The team will also visit Soccer Circus Dubai, some football academies in the city as well as aquarium tunnel, underwater zoo among others.
It will be recalled that Keke Senior High School defeated Anthony Village Senior High School, Anthony in the final of the U-17 Schools Cup competition played at the Campos Square Mini Stadium, Lagos Island. And for the victory, the school went home with the star prize of N1 million while Anthony Village Senior High School received N750, 000.
