The agency said in a statement that the 400 level Fine and Applied Arts student was arrested at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

“The student was arrested during the screening of passengers on an Ethiopian flight from Brazil en route Addis Ababa at the Enugu airport.

“He was found to have ingested liquid cocaine packed in male condoms,’’ said the statement signed by NDLEA’s spokesman, Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju.

It said the suspect also excreted 25 wraps of the substance.

“This is the first arrest by the agency from the airport and is exciting to us.

“The agency accords high priority attention to all the airports. We shall continue to strengthen our operations at the airports and prevent drug trafficking syndicates from using them.’’

The agency said the suspect would soon be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
