Organisers of the annual Sportsville Special Recognition Award has announced a new date for this year’s edition.
The new date is April 3rd, 2026 as against the earlier advertised date of March 28th.
The postponement, according to a statement issued by the Chief Executive Officer of Sportsville, Frank Ilaboya, is to allow for full attendance following some awardees and dignitaries’ engagement in the nation’s capital on the same 28th!
“We realise that the earlier March 28th date is no longer feasible due a pressing national assignment in Abuja which most of the awardees and invited dignitaries are also involved.
“To give opportunity to most of the dignitaries invited for the ceremony, we have to move our date forward by one week,” Ilaboya further explained.
The annual award, which enters its 6th edition this year, is a gathering of sports personalities, journalists and the crème de la creme of the society.
The event comes up at the Prestigious Lagos Country Club, Ikeja Lagos under the Chairmanship of Dr Larry Izamoje, the Chairman of Brila Media Group.
