Southern Kaduna Coalition Disowns Pro-El-Rufai Rally, Supports Investigation

The Coalition of Southern Kaduna Progressive Minds has distanced itself from a recent rally in Kafanchan held in support of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Jehu Dogo, and Secretary, Najib Mohammed, the group said the organisers of the protest did not represent the views or interests of the people of Southern Kaduna.

According to the coalition, the rally was politically motivated and allegedly aimed at stirring unrest in the region. The statement claimed the protest was orchestrated by individuals seeking to promote the interests of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The group maintained that while the right to peaceful protest is constitutionally guaranteed, such rights should not be used to create tension or spread misinformation.

It expressed support for ongoing investigations involving the former governor, stressing that no individual is above the law and that due process should be allowed to take its course.

The coalition also commended Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, describing his administration as inclusive and development-oriented. It stated that the current government had restored a sense of belonging in Southern Kaduna after years of perceived marginalisation.

The group called on youths and stakeholders in the region to remain peaceful and avoid being drawn into political conflicts that could destabilise the area.

It reaffirmed its commitment to lawful engagement and constructive participation in the state’s political and developmental processes.
