The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, says Nigeria is too great to be intimidated by insurgents.
‎
‎Mrs Tinubu spoke on Saturday at the Government House in Ado-Ekiti while meeting with members of the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers’ Council.
‎
‎She expressed her appreciation to the people of Ekiti, particularly Gov. Biodun Oyebanji and his wife, Olayemi, for the warm reception accorded her.

The First Lady also thanked the traditional rulers for their support to her husband during the last presidential election.

According to her, President Bola Tinubu is working tirelessly to ensure that insecurity in the country is curbed.
‎
‎She acknowledged the support being offered by foreign countries to tackle Nigeria’s security challenges.

‎The First Lady expressed optimism that the country’s security challenges would soon end.
‎
‎She, however, urged Nigerians to be prayerful, adding that God would not fail the country.

‎Mrs Tinubu, who was accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, also canvassed for a second term for Governor Oyebanji.

The First Lady gave N100 million to 2,000 female petty traders in the state as Business Recapitalisation Grant.

‎The grant of N50,000 to each of the women, according to the First Lady, was to assist them in supporting their families.

‎Earlier, Oba Adejimi Alagbado, the Chairman of the traditional rulers’ council, had commended the president for his leadership style.

Alagbado, the Ogoga of Ikere- Ekiti, recalled the president’s tenure as governor, saying he had tremendously transformed Lagos State.

He urged the president to tackle the current security challenges in the country.

In the First Lady’s entourage were the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim and APC National Women Leader, Dr Mary Idele.

Wives of governors as well as chieftains of the APC and other dignitaries were also present at the occasion.
