The General Manager Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, Ozor Chibuzor, has revealed that the Coal City team is still owing the management of Warri Wolves the transfer fees that would ensure they permanently own Super Eagles assistant goalkeeper, Chigozie Agbim.
Chibuzor stated that, Rangers would have loved to meet the May 15 deadline given by Warri Wolves for the club to pay the N8million agreed fees, but were delayed as they are still expecting funds from the Enugu state government, the team’s sole financier.
On Tuesday, the Media Officer of Warri Wolves, Mr Moses Etu, in a statement accused Rangers of failing to meet the deadline on May 15, declaring that the goalkeeper remains their property as no transfer fees have been paid on him.
Warri Wolves have also written to Rangers management through their secretary, Lawrence Omowho, to pay for Agbim’s transfer.
Wolves also disclosed that no transfer fee has been paid by Rangers on the second player they are requesting for, Super Eagles hero Sunday Mba.
“We want to clarify the issue of Sunday Mba and make it clear that we have not agreed on any fee with any club. Albeit to say that we are waiting for the right offer and as soon as anything concrete comes, we will inform the public accordingly,” a statement from the Warri club read.
