kano_pillarsPlayers and officials of Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars will today be rewarded with a car each for winning the 2012/13 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title.

The Sai Masugida were confirmed champions on the last day of last season in Akure after losing 1-2 to Sunshine Stars in an entertaining duel.

The expulsion of Ocean Boys from the Glo Premier League last season also masterminded the success of the Kano-based club as champions.

Kano State governor, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankaso is expected to host the champions at the government house in Kano on Tuesday.

The ceremony will start at exactly 2pm.

While confirming the events to supersport.com on Monday, Kano State sports commissioner, Professor Umar Jibril said the governor is excited for Pillars to have won the league title.

“The executive governor of Kano State is happy and I can confirm to you that all the players and officials that campaigned with Kano Pillars last season will be rewarded with a car each on Tuesday at the government house.

“We should have done this before the Ramadan celebration, but due to the brutal accident that happened to Kano Pillars in Kaduna made us to postpone it,” Jibril said.

Kano Pillars at the weekend lost their top spot to Enyimba in the NPFL standings and are now second on 42 points.
