Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, has commiserated with the government of Bayelsa State and families of the victims who died in a ghastly auto accident around Ahoada axis of the East West Road in Rivers State.
The incident, which involved the wife of Bayelsa State Secretary to State Government (SSG), Mrs Elizabeth Oguru, and nine other women jolted the entire nation that woke up on Sunday morning to read details of the gory tale of the crash.
Peterside, who described the tragedy as a national calamity, prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims. He also prayed God to grant the families the fortitude to bear the loss.
He used the opportunity to call for the quick completion of the East West Road so as to reduce accidents on that road. He further advised the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to step up on its functions along major highways in the country.
