FROM LEFT: INEC RESIDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSIONER FOR ANAMBRA, PROF. EMEKA ONUKAOGA; HEAD OF OPERATIONS, INEC, ANAMBRA, MR OKON EWA AND RETURNING OFFICER FOR 2013 ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION, PROF. JAMES EPOKE DURING THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF POLL RESULT AT AWKA, ANAMBRA STATE ON MONDAY.

“Where are they going to use the PVCs?”
That was the question on the lips of many Deltans on Thursday as news reached them over the invasion of the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government, Delta State by bandits.
After the invasion, 6,000 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and INEC registers were taken away.
Security men guarding the office, Aherebe Godday, Omajemite Justice and Oyubu Ejiro, were tied to a pole when the operation was on.
They were untied when security agents stormed the place after the exit of the gunmen.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, revealed that a resident tipped the police at Oghara that unknown gunmen had broken into the INEC office.
“Based on the report, detectives swung into action, stormed the office, untied and arrested the security guards for interrogation”.
Detectives later arrested 46-year-old Lucky Aputu in Oji Aputu compound, Onyobulu Inland Market Road, Oghara and recovered one of the stolen INEC registers found in his possession.
