The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Tanimu Turaki has asked party members to disregard reports claiming that the executive committees in Ogun State, Ekiti State, and Ondo State have been dissolved.

The directive was issued by the faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja.

Dissolution Declared Invalid

Ememobong described the reported dissolution of the state executive committees as unlawful and lacking legitimacy.

According to him, the move undermines ongoing reconciliation efforts aimed at resolving internal disagreements within the party.

He stated that the action was not recognised by the Turaki-led National Working Committee and therefore has no legal or political effect.

Party Members Urged to Ignore Announcement

The PDP spokesperson called on party officials at the state, local government, and ward levels to continue performing their official responsibilities.

He urged members and the general public to disregard the announcement and treat it as invalid.

Ememobong warned that attempts to dissolve the elected executives could worsen divisions within the party at a time when leaders are seeking unity.

Leadership Emphasises Need for Party Unity

The Turaki-led leadership also reiterated its commitment to reconciliation within the party.

According to the statement, efforts toward peace and stability are necessary to reposition the party ahead of future elections.

Ememobong added that the ongoing dialogue within the party is focused on strengthening the organisation and ensuring it remains competitive in upcoming electoral contests.
