The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed that its zoning policy will determine how positions are allocated at its upcoming National Convention scheduled for March 29–30 in Abuja

The decision was announced in a communiqué issued after the party’s 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting

The statement was jointly signed by Abdulrahman Mohammed, Chairman of the National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC), and Sen. Samuel Anyanwu,  Secretary of the committee.

According to the party, the convention will be guided by the theme “Inclusiveness, Unity and Renewal,” reflecting its commitment to fairness and internal cohesion.

The NEC emphasised that the zoning arrangement remains a key principle to ensure balance, equity, and national representation in the party’s leadership structure.

It directed all committees and party organs to coordinate effectively to deliver a credible and transparent convention.

The PDP also confirmed that the sale of nomination forms has begun, urging aspirants to adhere strictly to established guidelines and timelines.

In addition, the NEC reaffirmed the supremacy of the party and called on members to remain disciplined and united in pursuit of collective goals.

The committee expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses nationwide, describing them as peaceful and credible.

The reports from these congresses were formally ratified, with party officials commended for their adherence to due process.

The PDP further reviewed its ongoing electronic membership registration exercise, noting steady progress and encouraging wider participation.

It reiterated its commitment to building a reliable, technology-driven membership database to strengthen party operations.

The NEC expressed confidence in the party’s growing unity and organisational strength, assuring Nigerians of its readiness to offer effective leadership and governance.
