United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has announced disruptions across its flight operations after one of its aircraft experienced a bird strike incident

In a statement released in Lagos, the airline’s spokesperson, Chibuike Uloka, confirmed that the incident affected an Airbus A320 operating Flight UN0509 from Asaba International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos

According to the airline, the aircraft encountered the bird strike during the scheduled midday flight, resulting in damage to one of its engines.

Following the incident, the airline immediately withdrew the affected aircraft from service in line with standard aviation safety procedures.

Uloka explained that the aircraft would undergo a thorough technical inspection before being cleared to resume operations.

As a result, several flights within the airline’s network may experience delays or cancellations.

United Nigeria Airlines reassured passengers that safety remains its top priority, emphasising that all necessary steps are being taken to maintain operational standards.

The airline apologised to travellers affected by the disruption and appealed for patience while efforts are made to restore normal flight schedules.

Uloka added that the airline’s operational team is actively working to reduce inconvenience and provide assistance to impacted passengers.
