pdp_logo2The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday charged the opposition parties in the country to engage in politics of issues rather than attacking personalities.

The PDP Chairman in Abia, Sen. Emma Nwaka, who gave the charge when he briefed newsmen in Umuahia, said constructive criticism would help to develop the nation.

Nwaka expressed disappointment at the way and manner opposition parties were busy harassing the Federal Government rather than engage in constructive criticism.

“What the opposition is doing is just only harassing the government, but that is not what opposition is all about.

“If you are sincere in putting a ruling party on its toes, then opposition is expected to offer constructive criticism.

“If there is anything you feel the government is not doing well you recommend what you feel is a better alternative,’’ he said.

Nwaka described the emergence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a good development, saying that it would make the nation’s politics competitive.

On the time-table released by INEC for the 2015 general election, the PDP chairman said “we are not leaving any stone unturned’’.

Nwaka said that although PDP would not write off any party, it was not threatened by opposition in the forthcoming general election.
