A group, the Ondo State Eagle Eye on Election, has said that the governorship debate has exposed Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as a man with little ideas about governance.
It said the poll it conducted on the outcome of the debate showed that chances of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, winning the election increased by 60 per cent.
Ajayi and Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate had engaged each other in a debate organised by Channels Television.
Coordinator of the group, Philip Adelami, said the responses from Ondo electorate, both online and physical interaction, scored Aiyedatiwa below 20 percent.
Adelami said many of the respondents said, “We didn’t know Aiyedatiwa lacks ideas about governance.”
He said 80 per cent from 300,000 respondents said they would vote for the PDP candidate.
According to him, “Our focus is on the candidates’ ability to deliver on governance, their knowledge on critical issues of security, education, local government administration and economy.”
“The response from Ondo electorates that participated in our online and physical interaction survey indicated an increase in the chances of Ajayi.
“We will publish the full report of our survey as soon as possible. This immediate statement is to let the world know the truth about the debate.
“We thank Channels Television and other stakeholders for organising the debate to make the people aware of what the candidates can offer”.
