kenneth_omeruoSuper Eagles dependable defender, Kenneth Omeruo, despite nursing a shoulder injury sustained in the Confederations Cup match between Nigeria and Uruguay has sets his sights on getting a chance to play in the main Chelsea FC team in the new season.

To get this done, Omeruo has disclosed that he would push forward the date of an expected surgery on his injured shoulder until later, adding that, if he ventures enter the theatre now, it would take another three months for him to recover fully.

The Chelsea FC management announced after the Nigeria versus Tahiti FIFA Confederations Cup game in Brazil that, a decision had been reached for the defender who has been on loan to another European club, to include Omeruo in the team’s pre-season training programme.

Omeruo said: “I had the option of surgery, which would keep me out for three months, or just rest it,” Omeruo said. “I decided I would rest it.

“I want to be part of the pre-season with Chelsea, and I hope that I can do well enough to stay there and not go out on loan again.”

Jose Mourinho has returned for his second spell as Chelsea manager, and Omeruo hopes to make it hard for the former Real Madrid boss.

“I’m sure he will be looking at all his options now, and if I work hard enough, I can make it hard for him,” he said.
