Okugo waived by Sporting Kansas City

Amobi Okugo’s stint at Sporting Kansas City was a short one, with the club announcing on Tuesday that they have waived the 24-year-old midfielder.
Okugo joined SKC last July in a trade from Orlando City SC, making three appearances for the club. He spent five seasons in Philadelphia before moving to Orlando ahead of the 2015 season, and has racked up a total of 135 MLS appearances in his six-year career.
Sporting Kansas City now have 26 players on their roster, leaving them with two open roster spots ahead of their March 6 season opener at the Seattle Sounders.
