Ogbomoso bubbles for Crown FC promotion

Ahead of Saturday’s last match against relegated Fountain FC of Ekiti, supporters of Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso are already in celebration mood, awaiting the confirmation of the team to the Globacom Premier League.

Even though the team requires an outright win to be sure of a return to the elite league, while hoping that other contenders would fumble, the followers of the Ajilete Warriors are already looking to seeing their team compete with the big boys come next season.

Some of the club’s fans who spoke with our reporter ahead of Saturday’s match, said the team has performed well enough to end the season with a ticket back to the elite league.

Members of the supporters club of the Ajilete Warriors have also expressed optimism that it will be celebration galore at the end of hostilities in Ogbomoso.

However, team’s head coach Oladunni Oyekale would not take things for granted, stressing that, it is not over until it is over and has therefore declared total war against the visitors from Ado Ekiti.

The former Flying Eagles player added that although Fountain FC had already been relegated, the result of this encounter notwithstanding, prestige is all what they would be playing for.

Feelers from the ancient town of Ogbomoso revealed that a large turnout is expected at the Soun Stadium, venue of the match in which victory for Crown FC could see the team return to the premier league, depending on the outcome of the fixture involving City Of David (C.O.D) of Lagos and another contender for the ticket, Remo Stars FC.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dapo Lam Adesina has urged the players of Crown FC to finish the good work they started by clinching a promotion ticket via a convincing win over the already relegated Fountain FC.

Adesina, while thanking the management board of the club led by Alhaji Bello Noah and the teeming fans for their steadfastness this season, he called on Ogbomoso football lovers to throng to the Soun Ogbomoso Stadium in their large numbers and cheer the team to victory in the match.
