The  2-1 victory of the Super Eagles over host Ethiopia in Addis Ababa in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers has continued to attract commendations from football  analysts across  the country.

Segun Odegbami, former Green  Eagles  winger,  said that the Super Eagles were fantastic in their away victory against the host team.

“It was a fantastic display of soccer by Coach Stephen Keshi-led national team. They played up to my expectation,” he said.

Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike,  scored twice in the second half of the game to obliterate an earlier lead by the Ethiopians,  putting Nigeria on the qualification lane.

Odegbami said that with the victory, the Eagles would no longer be under pressure during the return leg coming up in Calabar.

“ Surely, Nigeria is unstoppable in the qualification struggle for the Brazil 2014 World Cup tournament,” he said.

Taiwo Ogunjobi, another former Green Eagles player, said that the  victory over their opponents showed they were more tactical than the Ethiopians.

“With the way and manner the Eagles came back from one goal down to winning  the match, there is an indication  that they played better and were more tactical than their opponents,” he said.

Ogunjobi said that the Super Eagles were on the way to Brazil 2014 the moment Emenike scored the winning goal through a spot kick.

He expressed the belief  that the Ethiopians would get more than they bargained for  in the return leg in Calabar.

Ademola Adesina, also a former Green Eagles player,  said that the Super Eagles showed that they were the African champions in the away win against Ethiopians.

‘‘The reaction of the Eagles to the first goal scored by the Ethiopians  showed  that they  are the real champions of the continent,’’ he said.

The Chief Coach of Prime FC of Osogbo said  nothing would stop the Super Eagles  from qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil.

The  two-legged Nigeria/Ethiopia  2014 World Cup qualification would be rounded up with a return leg scheduled for  Calabar.
