alh_ibrahim_ademola_bayo_fasholaThe Nigeria Football Federation has commiserated with the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), over the death of his father, Alhaji Ademola Fashola, on Monday.

Alhaji Ademola Fashola died after a brief illness, at the age of 79.

NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari was shocked when he received the news of the demise of Pa Fashola, which happened even as Governor Fashola was away to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the lesser hajj (umrah).

“This is very sad. Only a few months ago, Governor Fashola introduced me to his father, Alhaji Ademola Fashola, who looked very hale and hearty and spritely. The man certainly did not look his age.

“The Nigeria Football Federation and the entire Nigeria football family deeply mourn with His Excellency, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola on the demise of his father at this period that he certainly needs the old man’s regular advice and words of wisdom.

“Our prayer is the Almighty God will give Governor Fashola and the good people of Lagos State the fortitude to bear this big loss, and also grant the soul of late Alhaji Fashola eternal rest.”

Family sources informed the Nigeria Football Federation that the late Pa Fashola would be buried at 4pm on Tuesday, according to Islamic injunction.
