For alleging that he mismanaged N500 million while in office, former governor of Oyo State and the governorship candidate of Accord Party in Saturday’s election, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, has sued the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
He is claiming N10 billion in general damages.
Describing the allegation as ‘a false and malicious publication against my person’, Ladoja, in the suit marked: I/14/2005 filed before the state High Court in Ibadan by his lawyer, Biodun Abdul-Raheem, is seeking the court’s declaration that the publication entitled: “N500m Refund by Ladoja: Face of Ladoja, the Serial Liar” in two newspapers in January this year, was libelous.
He blamed the delay in filing the suit on the closure of the court since January, 2015 by the striking Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) .
The matter was filed at the Ring Road High Court Registry.
