North Charleston Mayor, Keith Summey, on Thursday said policeman, Michael Slager, who shot and killed African-American, Walter Scott, in South Carolina, United States (U.S.) has been fired.
Summey said this at news conference that was repeatedly interrupted by protests, to such an extent that Summey threatened to leave.
He said he had visited Scott’s family, along with police chief, Eddie Driggers.
He reassured the family that the state would pay all the victim’s medical expenses until the birth of their baby.
Report says Mrs Scott is eight months pregnant.
