Malawi won’t survive in Nigeria

mike_umehThe vice-president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Chief Mike Umeh, has stated that the boastful Malawi national soccer team will not survive the arsenals of the Nigeria national senior men’s soccer team, the Super Eagles when the two go to the battle field on September 6 in the final group World Cup qualifiers match scheduled for the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

The NFF Vice-President dismissed the threat made by the foreign Technical Adviser of the Malawi team, Saintfiet. He said, Nigeria have nothing to fear as the Eagles have never lost a match at the U. J. Esuene Stadium.

“What they are doing is mind games and we are up for it,” Umeh declared.

“Remember, we will be playing in Calabar, we have never lost a match in Calabar, so I don’t see how we will start with Malawi who held us to a draw with a late equaliser in their own home.”

Umeh dismissed suggestions that Saintfiet will come into the game with revenge on his mind, following his unceremonious sack after a brief appointment as technical director of the NFF.

“He cannot do that because he has to keep faith, Who says he cannot be employed tomorrow? “Even if he does, he is only a coach who will pass instructions. He won’t do the playing.” Umeh said.

“Look at Keshi who is in charge of the Super Eagles today; he had been turned down before, So Saintfiet cannot think that way,
