Khune wants support against Eagles

super eaglesSouth Africa captain, Itumeleng Khune, has admitted that Nigeria are a “formiddable side,” and has appealed to the fans for support in the Nelson Mandela Challenge.

Bafana take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the Nelson Mandela Challenge on Wednesday, kick-off at 8.15pm (7.15pm Nigeria time).

“This is going to be a nice challenge for us,” ‘Mzansi’s number one’ says. “Winning this match will put us in a better position in the Fifa rankings. We have to perform to the best of our ability because we are meeting a really formidable side.

“I would also like to appeal to the fans to come in numbers to support us as they have been doing all along. We believe with our fans behind us, we can go all the way.”

Tickets for the clash are on sale at Computicket, Shoprite, Checkers and Shoprite/Checkers for R50 and R100.

Nigeria squad to face Bafana Bafana.

Goalkeepers:Austin Ejide (Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Israel), Chigozie Agbim (Enugu Rangers, Nigeria).

Midfielders: John Obi Mikel (Chelsea, England), Fegor Ogude (Valerenga, Norway), Victor Moses (Chelsea, England), John Ogu (Academica de Coimbra, Portugal), Ogenyi Onazi (Lazio, Italy), Nnamdi Oduamadi (AC Milan, Italy) and Sunday Mba (Enugu Rangers, Nigeria).
