Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi on Tuesday pledged to ensure human development to enhance rapid development of the state.

He made the pledge when he received members of Zabarmawa Association and their executives who paid him a congratulatory visit in Birnin Kebbi.

“The essence of government is to bring positive development to the people and to ensure human development.

“I have repeatedly stated this and by the grace of God this is how we are going to run our government.

“We will not forget anybody and we will not forget you in view of the role you have played.

“What you have done to ensure our success was so glaring and nobody can dispute it because Zabarmawa are not lazy people.

“Some of you left your businesses and jobs and came back home for the election.

“Even after the first election that was declared inconclusive, some of you did not go back until the election was concluded,’’ he said.

Gov. Idris recalled that during his electioneering campaigns he went to many villages with different needs, assuring that such villages would witness dividends of democracy according to their respective needs.

While appreciating all groups for their visits, Idris urged them not to hesitate to give useful advice and suggestions that would move Kebbi forward.

The governor pledged to run an inclusive government and appealed for support from all and sundry to enable him to bring the desired development to Kebbi.

Earlier, the Sarkin Zabarmawan Gwandu, Alhaji Mustapha Haliru said the visit was meant to congratulate the governor and to show solidarity with his administration.

Haliru pledged the readiness of the association to extend all necessary support and cooperation to the governor to enable him to take the state to next level of development.
