Judge orders scavenger to clean court premises for 2 days

An Upper Area Court Gwagwalada, FCT, has ordered a 23-year-old scavenger, Rabiu Isha to clean the premises of the FCT High Court, Gwagwalada for two days for stealing concrete slab.

The police charged Isah who resides in Gwako ll, Gwagwalada, with criminal trespass, theft and mischief.

The Judge, Malam Sani Umar, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty and begged the court for mercy.

Umar warned him to desist from committing crimes and be of good behaviour.

Earlier the Prosecution Counsel, Abdullahi Tanko told the court that the complainant Iliya Yakubu of the same address reported the matter at the police station on Oct. 13.

Tanko said at about 9:45 a.m. the convict criminally trespassed into Palm Spring International Ltd. and stole a concrete slab and destroyed it.

He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 342, 287 and 327 of the Penal Code.
