Iran Yet to Send Delegation for U.S. Talks in Pakistan

Iran has not dispatched any officials to Pakistan for scheduled negotiations with the United States, according to reports from Iranian state media.

The report indicated that neither technical experts nor senior representatives had travelled to Islamabad for the anticipated discussions.

Iranian authorities reportedly maintained that any engagement with Washington must occur under conditions free from pressure, warning against negotiations influenced by threats or unresolved disputes.

Officials suggested that the possibility of a second round of talks would depend on changes in the U.S. position, though specific conditions were not disclosed.

One of the major issues affecting the talks remains the U.S. naval blockade targeting Iranian vessels and ports.

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the blockade will remain in place until a broader agreement is reached between the two countries.

Security sources in Pakistan indicated that Iran’s participation in negotiations is tied to the removal of the blockade, which Tehran views as a key obstacle.

The situation comes as a temporary ceasefire involving the United States, Israel, and Iran approaches its expiration.

The ceasefire, brokered to reduce escalating hostilities, is expected to end soon, with uncertainty surrounding its extension.

President Trump has reportedly signalled that extending the ceasefire without a formal agreement is unlikely.

Analysts say the absence of an Iranian delegation underscores ongoing tensions and the fragile state of diplomatic efforts in the region.
